Thomas Nigro, designer for VideoLan, has posted the first glimpse of what VLC for Windows Phone 8 will look like.

He notes that there is still no release date for the app, but the release of a Windows 8 version does hopefully signify that this cant be too far off.

He also hints the app may await the release of Windows Phone 8.1, but this is of course not that far off these days.
